#AccraHPSR2015: whereto from here?

Two weeks ago, researchers, educators, civil servants and civil society advocates from West Africa met in Accra, Ghana to begin to shape a home-grown agenda for health policy and systems capacity strengthening in that region. This meeting, which included participants from 9 countries - Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote D'Ivoire, the Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal - grew out of prior initiatives, including the Emerging Leaders Programme of the Consortium for Health Policy and Systems Analysis in Africa (CHEPSAA).

Click here to read a great blog about the meeting itself and possible next steps in building the field of health policy and systems research in West Africa. The blog was written by CHEPSAA Emerging Leaders Aku Kwamie (University of Ghana School of Public Health, Ghana) and Enyi Etiaba (College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, Nigeria) and their colleagues Abubakar Kurfi (National Health Insurance Scheme, Nigeria), Felix Obi (Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria) and Seye Abimbola (National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Nigeria/School of Public Health, University of Sydney, Australia).
